PARENT SUPPORT
CEID’s services are comprehensive, flexible, warm, and caring. We strive to meet the unique needs of each family, while always keeping the children’s well-being and growth our priority.

CEID’s staff enhances families’ capacity to support the growth and development of all family members – adults, youth, and children. Our programs and services, in addition to strengthening children’s ability to communicate and succeed, also affirm families’ cultural, racial, and linguistic identities. Our goal is to be a resource for families and to help them be resources for their own families, other families, programs, and the communities in which they live. We understand that CEID is but a link in the larger system of supports and services that our constituents need and deserve.
To this end, staff and families advocate programs and services that are appropriate, meaningful, comprehensive, continually responsive to emerging family and community needs, and accountable. CEID works with families to mobilize and access the formal and informal supports they and their children need and often accompany parents to meetings, appointments and school visits in which they may need additional support.
CEID is firmly embedded in the Berkeley community, in Alameda County, and in the state of California. CEID contributes to the community-building process through active participation in local and state issues and through reaching out to the community to support issues that impact the population we serve.
