Audiology Team

Michal Joseph, AuD, Audiology Director
Dr. Joseph has worked as a Clinical Audiologist for the past 28 years. She holds an undergraduate degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa; and Doctor of Audiology from A.T. at the University in Arizona. Dr. Joseph’s experience is diverse both clinically and culturally; she has worked in South Africa, Canada and the USA providing diagnostic and rehabilitative services to children and adults. Dr. Joseph started working with CEID 8 years ago as a part-time Audiologist, but in 2014 she came on-board full time as CEID’s Audiology Director and is our lead on-site audiologist. She specializes in hearing aid amplification technology, assistive listening devices and custom ear protection. She is bilingual in English and Hebrew.

Carol Pang, AuD.
Dr. Pang is our newest audiologist who joined us in November 2016. She holds an undergraduate degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences from the University of Iowa and Doctor of Audiology from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. Her clinical specialties are diagnostics and aural rehabilitation in the adult and pediatric population. She grew up in the field of Audiology as she was diagnosed with hearing loss when she was five. She is now a hearing aid and cochlear implant user. Dr. Pang is trilingual in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.

Lorna Wright, AuD.
Dr. Wright has been an audiologist for over 40 years and has worked in many areas in North California in small practices and in large hospitals. She completed her education at San Francisco State University and is licensed as an Audiologist and Hearing Aid dispenser. Dr. Wright works part time at CEID to support our CEID audiology team by working directly with adults to complete hearing evaluations and hearing aid fittings.

Gemma Pellaz, Audiology Program Coordinator
Gemma joined CEID in 2015 as our Audiology Program Coordinator. She is responsible for the oversight of daily operations of both our Berkeley and Oakland audiology clinics. She joins our team with substantial administration and non-profit experience. She is trilingual in English, Spanish, and French.

Dania Garcia, Audiology Office Administrator
Dania joined CEID in 2015 as an Audiologist Assistant and is now our Audiology Office Administrator. She has a degree in Medical Billing and Coding. Her main responsibilities include scheduling, test assisting, translating (Spanish/English), and screening newborns.

Esmeralda Martinez, Audiology Assistant
Esmeralda joined CEID in 2016 as a part-time audiology assistant.  She completed a Medical Administrative Assistant and Medical Terminology course at Castro Valley Adult School in 2014.  Esmeralda has experience in customer service, and is bilingual in Spanish.  Her main duties include test assisting during pediatric appointments, scheduling, and translating.
